Kodak 5-Year Case StudyEvolution from exhibition to experiential
During my time at Mirror Show Management, I was part of a core team that grew the Kodak account from simple exhibit design to true experience design over the span of 5 years. This team introduced new technology and immersive environments into the way Kodak exhibits, which resulted in a yearly increase in press coverage, booth traffic and show sales, as well as happy clients.
Summary
-
During a period of transition from legacy film to digital imaging systems, Kodak needed more than a strong visual presence — it required a cohesive environment capable of communicating a complex and evolving product ecosystem to global stakeholders, including retailers, partners, and enterprise clients.
-
Working closely with internal teams, fabricators, and international partners, we approached their presence at key trade shows like CES and Photokina as a narrative system rather than a collection of product displays. By organizing the space around intuitive pathways and visual hierarchy, we helped reduce cognitive overload and improve how audiences navigated Kodak’s expanding portfolio. The goal was to create clarity within complexity — aligning physical environment, interactive elements, and brand messaging into a unified experience.
-
The resulting experiential installations functioned as an integrated communication platform rather than a traditional trade show booth. It strengthened alignment between global messaging and on-site execution, improved product discoverability, and helped reposition Kodak as innovation-forward during a pivotal transition. The work received industry recognition and reinforced the value of structured design systems in making complex innovation more accessible and understandable.

Kodak Interactive Exhibit at CES 2009
CES 2005-2009
CES is the stage for the world’s most anticipated technology debuts. Over five years, I led the creative evolution of Kodak’s massive 11,000-square-foot presence.
We transformed the space from building realistic home environments to designing large-scale multimedia installations and interactive touchscreens.
As the work grew in scale, my role expanded from graphic design to art direction and multimedia production.
Print 2009
Kodak needed a major presence at the largest graphics exhibition in the U.S. without shipping a single piece of heavy machinery. Functioning as an executive producer, I coordinated interactive, graphic, and exhibit teams to replace physical hardware with digital experiences.
After months of research, collaboration, and innovation, we built a custom interactive ecosystem that delivered tailored solutions to over 25,000 visitors and garnered industry recognition.
“Sarah has superb design skills with the added ability to manage other agencies within a large project. Delivered an innovative digital demonstration for Kodak at Print 09 which was a huge success. Excellent to work with, personable, professional and reliable.”

Photokina 2006/2008
Photokina is the largest imaging stage in the world. In 2006, I helped launch Kodak’s sleekest new cameras by turning the booth into a high-fashion event. We built an elevated catwalk and commissioned custom couture made from Kodak products, transforming technical demonstrations into a live spectacle.
Following that success, I led the 2008 return. We scaled the concept into a massive multimedia installation with live photo sets and immersive environments. My focus was on maintaining brand authority while managing the complex logistics of a global launch. We moved beyond simple displays to create a high-energy environment where the products felt modern and indispensable.
